The Dreadful Weekend...

The Weekend...ah. Reading the NY Times and eating. Leisure and habit together as one.
These weekends are the hardest to maintain; it's easier to cheat and be outside the routine, so to speak. These weekends remind us that we have so many habits we never even knew we had! Frightening really. Tea with sugar, brunch with sugar, pinkberry with sugar, diet soda with sugar, a bite or snack with sugar. SUGAR in everything.
Got up this morning and measured my stomach: it just looked leaner so I had to be sure. It WAS! It was leaner...and that's all I needed to motivate this Sunday of leisure and habits to not get in my way!
I realized I haven't had ANY juice of any form since Tuesday. I realized I am eating overall so much cleaner and more conscious. I did, however, have some vino here and there, but never over did it.
I want us to make a list today of all the bad or unconscious sugar eating habits we have discovered these past 5days and then add them up over 30 days of the challenge! This might blow your mind. As one sugar buster put it: "I'm down 14 Tates Chocolate Chip Cookies this week". That's nearly 60 cookies in one month! That's an extra, are you ready...12, 000 LESS calories per month! Holy smokes! Just cutting out 2 cookies a day could afford you more nutritionally valued fuel and thus, higher percentage of leaner muscle mass for when you exercise. You are more likely to burn fat instead of muscle if you have proper fuel in your system.
Remember: ENERGY IN IS ENERGY OUT
YOU NEED TO EAT FAT TO LOSE FAT
H2O! H2O! H2O! TO FLUSH OUT TOXINS

Have a much deserved, relaxing weekend! Closing thoughts tonight

no stevia or processed forms of sugar that will raise your insulin levels and make your intestines work harder to break down.
morning's are defintely the hardest to not feel deprived. It's simply years and years of habits we are trying to bring to the surface. I actually looked at the packed of SUGAR IN THE RAW this morn and was ok with NOT having it!

fortunately i don't drink much coffee or tea. couldn't imagine that w/o a few packets. other than eggs and certain yogurts, what are good breakfast suggestions? all the cereals i checked out have sugar except oatmeal.

i've been putting cinnamon powder (NOT the mixture of cinnamon-sugar, but straight-up cinnamon) in my lattes, and i have to tell you....it's been really delicious.
